OPEN RUN-THROUGH FOR YOUNG COMPOSERS & WORKSHOPS
Open-Run Through for Young Composers
The open-run through for young composers is an initiative promoted by the Sond’Ar-te Electric Ensemble which aims to enhance the musical creation for its instrumentation, ie: flute, clarinet, violin, cello, piano and electronics. It works also as a creation lab, as a place where the composers and the Sond’Ar-te Electric Ensemble get to share experience and musical knowledge.

In order to stimulate the creation and circulation of new musical works the Sond’Ar-te Electric Ensemble and Goethe Institut in Lisbon are organizing the first edition of the Sond’Ar-te International Forum for Young Composers, which will take place between May 17th and 20th 2011 at the Goethe Institute in Lisbon.
The Forum’s objective is to give young composers (up to 35 years old) an opportunity to create and present their work in public. The organizers also wish to create a privileged space for experience and ideas exchange between musicians from different countries.
The Forum’s first edition will counted with the participation of young creators residing both in Portugal and Germany. A reading panel, constituted of Siegfried Mauser (pianist and director of Musikhochschule in Munich), António de Sousa Dias (composer and former adjunct at the Lisbon Superior School of Music), Miguel Azguime (composer and artistic director of the Sond'Arte Electric Ensemble), Pedro Neves (conductor) and one Sond’Ar-te member, selected the following 5 works:

"Pensamentos Perdidos" by Ana Seara (Portugal)
"Configurazioni" by Gonçalo Gato (Portugal)
